CHALLENGE

Hoping to give the traditional business model of a community pharmacy a facelift, PharmRx wants to use a personalized delivery service to increase medication adherence and ultimately improve the health of patients.

STRATEGY

After conducting extensive research on the industry, the current business model and financial data, the group identified a gap in proving medication adherence. The group recommended collecting data and using a formula to show improvements in adherence over time.

RESULTS

The group recommends purchasing a license for and customizing Pioneer Rx software to collect patient information. The proprietary data then becomes the product to sell to insurers, PBMs and possibly pharmaceutical manufacturers. Increased medication adherence among patients proves the business model and positions PharmRx become a preferred pharmacy among physicians, insurers and PBMs and profits and investments allow PharmRx to expand regionally, and, ultimately, nationally.
