#IslesGraphic Post-Game Recap
CHALLENGE
As the public relations graduate assistant with the New York Islanders marketing and communications team for the 2014-15 NHL season, I conceptualized the idea for a digital game recap to share on social media. I worked with the social media coordinator on the layout and the graphic designer on the design. I presented the idea to marketing and communications leadership and took on the responsibility of updating the graphic after games.
STRATEGY
The graphic design coordinator created three versions of the #IslesGraphic to highlight the underlying story of the game: Three Stars, Goaltender Statistics and Shootout Results. Additionally, a small part of the graphic highlighted a fan Tweet, encouraging fans to Tweet about the game for the chance to be featured.

RESULTS
The #IslesGraphic posts enjoyed regular engagement and fans started using the hashtag to increase the likilhood of being the “Tweet of the Game.” The following season, the #IslesGraphic led to a sponsorship opportunity for a corporate partner.
